Here's how we'll qualify!

We'll take a photo of your group and the total number of participants

We'll take a photo of the bags collected

We'll count the number of bags collected
👉 Bags must be full to be counted as one. Parks staff will confirm the final count at each location.
👉 Only the clear bags provided by the Town will be accepted.
🚯 Household garbage, construction waste or yard waste (including branches, trimmings, or garden waste) will not be accepted.
Contest Prize:
The Community Group with the highest number of bags per participant, will win a free Block Party Trailer booking and a $200 grocery card to help host a community party.
Safety Guidelines for your participants:

Work in pairs whenever possible

Use gloves or litter pickers - avoid direct contact with garbage

Never touch needles or hazardous materials – take a photo and send the GPS location to Parks@cochrane.ca

Wash your hands before eating or drinking

Don’t compress garbage bags with your bare hands or body parts

Avoid contact with your body while carrying the garbage bag to prevent cuts

Be cautious of ticks and insects, especially in long grass or bushes

Wear appropriate shoes and dress for the weather

Stay visible and never turn you back on oncoming traffic if near roads

Avoid picking litter from the road

Stay away from steep slopes and bodies of water; if working along the creek, maintain a safe distance
